A motion was made and seconded to accept the Secretary's report as read. Motion passed. Pres Chamblee at this time asked all members to please be sure to make the Secretary aware of any e-mail changes to members addresses as this is one of 3 ways that the Secretary can notify members of up coming meetings with locations, directions, and dates. Treasurer's Report: Trea. Bob Convery SM-147, reported as of June 14,2010 the treasury total. Expenditures outstanding include Tower project, web site, postage, supplies etc. Trea. That area was hit much harder than our area. The annual recognition dinner will be held on June 23,2010 in So Berwick Me. Old Business: Pres. Chamblee reported on the progress of the Raymond tower project and stated it was slowly taking shape. Pres Chamblee stated we may need two to three hundred additional dollars due to the fact we have to raise the tower as it is not doing as well as expected. He also wanted to thank some members for their donations and contribution to this project, particularly John Chandler SM-84, Ric Plummer SM-653 and Lin Deering SM-300. Pres Chamblee also stated he donated sections of tower and hard line cable for the project. He stated that due to his pending hospital stay, he was appointing Lin Deering, Ric Plummer and John Chandler to oversee the project. Pres Chamblee then asked Ric Plummer SM-653, to explain the details of the project. He stated that we do need to raise the tower from forty four feet to eight one feet due to the topographical area after which SM-1014 Mike Winters motioned to spend an additional amount if needed for this project. Motion was seconded and passed. Pres Chamblee reminded members again to please notify either himself or the Secretary of any email address changes or members that have an email address if they would give it to the Secretary so he can notify members of upcoming events or meetings. A short discussion ensued about GMRS licenses and the changes that have been made by FCC. This will not affect SMFNA Ch 11, also the new rules on narrow band will not affect GMRS repeaters. New Business: Pres Chamblee asked for a motion to make Ricky Plummer SM-91 a honorary member of SMFNA due to the fact he is a founding member of the group. The motion was seconded and passed. A discussion ensued on the new rules of FCC on narrow band to take place Jan 1,2013 Pres Chamblee stated he wants members, particularly new members , to be aware of radios they are purchasing because most older radios are not compatible to narrow band. Lin Deering asked for a motion to send a letter of thanks to the individuals that are not SMFNA members who donated there time and labor in this Raymond repeater project. The 2 mentioned were Martin Greco of Evergreen Electric, Casco Maine, who donated his bucket truck and his labor in putting up the tower and also Arthur Shaw, a good friend of Pres Chamblee who donated his labor to this project. A motion was made to have the Secretary send letters of thanks to both these individuals. The motion was seconded and passed. VP Higgins(SM-104) asked if there was someone that had knowledge of computers that could make some kind of certificates of appreciation so we could send them to these individuals.
