0655)1:30 PM-W/F-Presque Isle, ME-Crown Ambulance Presque Isle base. The building was damaged after a fire in an ambulance parked in one of the bays spread to the bay and attic area. Responding firefighters had the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.

0654)11:50 AM-MVA-Wilton, NH-Route 31 just south of Route 101. Motorcycle struck a boulder which fell out of a dump truck. Operator was airlifted to a Worcester,MA hospital 10-45 code 2+. PD & Highway Patrol are investigating.

0653)02:20 AM-MVA-Winterport, ME-North Main St near Winterport Family Practice. Vehicle struck 2 poles and a tree and rolled over, ejecting the driver and pinning him under the car. FF's extricated the male and he was transported with serious injuries.

0650)7:00 PM-4th.AL-Pelham, NH-60 Pulpit Rd @ "QAC Incorporated". Fire in a 2-story 200X200 metal clad industrial building, reported gas cylinders inside. M/A responded from several towns.

0649)10:00 AM-MVA-Hampton, NH-Hampton River Bridge. A car crashed through a steel gate which a transportation employee was attempting to open, then continued to the far end of the bridge and crashed through another gate, then into another car. The employee was killed, the accident is under investigation.

0646)PM-MVA-Benton, ME-Small airfield near Clinton Ave. A pickup rolled over, partially ejecting the male operator and pinning him under the vehicle, air bags were used for extrication. 1 10-45 code 2 transported.

0645)07:15 AM-W/F-East Millinocket, ME-Katahdin Paper Co. A fire in a mill involved 45,000 tons of paper in the recycling plant. M/A responded from Millinocket and Lincoln. It took firefighters over 12 hours to extinguish the fire.

0644)AM-HAZMAT-Concord, NH-10 Ferry St @ the Concord Center. A flooded basement in a commercial building knocked over several 5-gallon buckets, 40 of which had unknown chemical(s). The building, which houses several different businesses, was evacuated until the spill can be cleaned up.

0643)12:15 AM-W/F-Farmington, ME-Poverty Ln off High St. A mobile home, a 20X60 garage, and several wood frame out-buildings fully involved. Chesterville, Industry, New Sharon, Temple, and Wilton responded M/A.

0631)12:30 PM-3rd.AL-Londonderry, NH-Winding Pond Dr & Lincoln Dr @ Century Village Apartments. A 100X50 clubhouse building well involved on arrival, the building was a total loss. Several towns responded M/A to the fire.

0630)11:15 AM-MVA-South Portland, ME-I-295 near the Fore River Bridge. 2 vehicles head-on with 1 car driving the wrong way in the northbound lane. The driver of the car traveling in the wrong direction was 10-45 code 1, 2 10-45's code 2 were transported to MMC in Portland.

0629)10:00 AM-MVA-Wiscasset, ME-Route 1 near "Big Al's" store. A 3 car collision, 1 female was ejected and seriously injured. Also a nearby business empoyee was giving mouth to mouth resuscitation to an infant at the scene. *The child died the evening of 5/20/04 at the hospital.

0624)1:25 PM-ACW-Milford, NH-107 Union St. Electrical fire in wall on 2nd floor of a house.

0623)11:02 AM-W/F-Nashua, NH-12 Farmwood Dr. A house fire, heavy fire showing on arrival. Extensive damage done to the house and a dog was lost.

0622)06:20 AM-MVA-Monson, ME-Route 15. Wood chip tractor-trailer rolled over with entrapment, extrication tools used to free the drivers' arm which was pinned under the truck. Monson and Greenville firefighters and public works employees responded to the scene. A bucket loader was used to gather the wood chips.

M/A responded from Wakefield, jaws and rescue, and Rochester with EMS.

0618)3:00 PM-MVA-Searsmont, ME-Route 173. A car lost control, rolled over, and ejected three occupants. 1 10-45 code 1, 2 10-45 code 3's. State Police stated speed and possible alcohol consumption were the cause.

0617)1:30 PM-W/F-Manchester, NH-714 Granite St at 2nd Ave. Kitchen fire in a 1-story 30X100 restaurant, extended to roof before being knocked down by firefighters.

0607)8:00 PM-W/F-Wells, ME-46 Edgewood Cir. Lightning struck a shed and caused a fire in a nearby house when it traveled to the cellar. The fire gutted the basement.

0606)5:20 PM-W/F-Lisbon Falls, ME-Route 196 @ Masonite Corp. Fire in a wood chip mill building, M/A responded to scene and for coverage.

0605)12:30 PM-ATV ACCIDENT-Township 4, Indian Purchase, ME-Off Route 11. An inexperienced ATV rider lost control going down a ravine on the side of a mountain and it rolled over, throwing him onto some rocks. After Milo first responders and a crew from Three Rivers Ambulance responded and spent an hour carrying him off the mountain, he was transported by Lifeflight to EMMC in Bangor with serious injuries.

0604)AM-MVA-Greenville, NH-Old Mason Center Rd. A 17 y/o male riding a dirt bike apparently struck a semi trailer parked at location. He was pronounced dead at the scene, State Police are investigating the accident.

0592)1:00 PM-BRUSH FIRE-Township 24, ME-Area of Pleasant River near Deblois. A 148 acre fire which burned grassland and woods on each side of the river. Maine Forestry responded with about 45 rangers, a hot shot crew from Jonesboro, and several area departments. Equipment used included bulldozers, tank trucks and two Huey helicopters for water drops.

0582)3:00 PM-MVA-Auburn, ME-Canton Point Rd. A motorcycle lost control, male operator got a broken neck when the bike landed on top of him. He was transported by Lifeflight to CMMC in critical condition.

0581)2:50 PM-MVA-Carmel, ME-I-95 near mile 171. An SUV lost control while passing 2 cars, clipped one car, left the road and went airborne, then struck trees in the median. The vehicle landed on the roof after ejecting three of the seven occupants. All seven occupants, 3 adult females and 4 young children, were 10-45 code 1 on scene. SP is reconstructing the accident.

0572)7:55 PM-MVA-Andover, NH-Route 4. Motorcycle accident, 1 10-45 code 2+, reported a working code. Dhart helo responded for transport.

0571)06:10 AM-MVA-Rochester, NH-Spaulding Turnpike between exits 16 & 17. Car stru a tractor trailer in opposite lane, jaws used to extricate the occupant in the car. 1 10-45 code 2 was transported to an airport and flown by helo to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. NH SP is investigating.

0570)03:40 AM-3rd.AL-North Windham, ME-608 Roosevelt Trail (Route 302) @ Pinelyne Furniture. Heavy fire in a 2-3 story storage area between an attached commercial store and a farmhouse, separated by fire walls. The storage area heavily involved with collapse of roof area. Several towns responded M/A to the fire including a tanker task force for water.

0569)11:30 AM-MVA-Falmouth, ME-Hoylake Cir off Birkdale Rd. Passengers sitting on a tailgate of a pickup truck were injured when the tailgate cables broke, causing them to fall off the rear of the truck. 1 10-45 code 2 with a head injury was taken to MMC in Portland. He died from his injury on 5/9/04.

0568)AM-MVA-Hampden, ME-I-95, just below the Coldbrook Road exit. A pickup truck rolled over several times, trapping the lone male occupant. Jaws used to extricate the victim, who was then transported to EMMC in Bangor.

0567)10:40 PM-MVA-Brownfield, ME-Route 160. Vehicle rolled over with entrapment, jaws used. Operator had either no or minor injury, Oxford SO investigated the scene.

0566)AM-MVA-Merrimack, NH-Bedford Rd near Daniel Webster Hwy. A speeding car hit another car stopped in traffic, pushing it into a 3rd car, the first car then continued and struck a house, trapping the driver. Jaws were used for extrication, the driver was transported in unknown condition. An adult and an infant in the car which was struck had minor injuries. The accident is under investigation.

0565)03:30 AM-W/F+-Oxford, ME-Main St (Route 26) @ the "Cozy Cat Country Store". A commercial building containing 3 businesses with heavy fire in 1 of the businesses, a convenience store which was destroyed. The other stores were saved with heavy smoke damage. M/A responded from 5 towns.

Three trucks involved with heavy entrapment and an extensive extrication operation, 3 sets of jaws used, helo requested but not available. 2 10-45's code 2 transported. Gilford, Alton, Wolfeboro, New Durham and Farmington Rescue workers responded, as did MedStar, Lord Ambulance and Rescue International.

Multi vehicles involved in at least 2 separate accidents, with entrapment. 2 sets of jaws used, M/A rescue & engine from York responded. 1 10-42 code 2 from 1st MVA, 8 10-45's code 2 & 3 from the 2nd MVA were all transported to York Hospital.

0559)7:00 PM-MVA-Anson, ME-Pease Hill Rd. A pickup truck left the roadway and struck a tree, jaws were used to extricate a male occupant. 1 10-45 code 2 was transported to Redington-Fairview General Hospital, then transferred to EMMC in Bangor in critical condition.

0558)PM-FATAL FIRE-Greenfield, ME-Mallard Way. A kitchen fire apparently burned itself out in a small house, an elderly male apparently was unable to get out and died in the fire. The State Fire Marshal's office is investigating.

0553)PM-W/F-Milo, ME-Stanchridge Rd. A 2-story house, heavy fire on the 2nd floor. An elderly female occupant was transported to the hospital, 10-45 code 3.

0552)PM-MVA-Hudson, ME-Route 221. A vehicle off the road into a tree, a passenger was taken by Lifeflight to EMMC in Bangor, where he died of his injuries. The accident is under investigation.

0551)2:15 PM-MVA-Hancock, ME-Route 1. A minivan struck a guardrail then drifted into the opposite lane and struck a pickup head-on. The van burst into flames and the occupants were pulled out by bystanders. Lifeflight transported 1 10-45 code 2, three others were hospitalized, PD reconstructed the scene.

0550)2:15 PM-BRUSH FIRE-Easton, ME-Ladner Rd & Gray Rd area. A wildfire burned over 90 acres of brush & woods, threatening several structures. Numerous M/A departments responded, as well as ME Forestry.
