MARCH 2011

3/30 18:00 Buxton, ME - 65 River Road, brush fire. One firefighter and an elderly man, who was burning grass around his house, were transported to the hospital with burns. The civilian succumbed to the burn injuries, while the firefighters were minor.

3/30 morning Lewiston, ME - 215 Pine Street, three story apartment building heavily damaged, with partial roof collapse. Third floor porch fire extended to the third floor, with heavy water damage to first and second. Several towns mutual aid.

3/30 04:00 North Hampton, NH - 2 Alarm - 134 Walnut Street, two historic barns destroyed and their machinery contents. The barns were well involved on arrival and efforts were to protect the house.

3/29 afternoon Portland, ME - 3 Alarm - 15 Walton Street, three unit apartment building. Fire on second and third floor on arrival and extended to the attic and roof. All residents escaped and the building is unliveable.

3/28 Pembroke, NH - Pembroke Street home a total loss. Some residents escaped out windows and jumping from a roof. The family and dog were saved, with one adult hospitalized for observation.

3/28 night Brentwood, NH - Rockingham Nursing Home, mattress fire contained to the room of origin, with light smoke on the first floor. Building had to be evacuated.

3/28 Seabrook, NH - "Unusual event" declared at Seabrook Nuclear Plant for smoke in an elevator in a support building. Caused by a transformer, it was handled by the plant's fire brigade.

3/28 21:30 Orono, ME - Stillwater Apartments on Centre Drive housing for Univ of Maine, second floor deck extended to third floor and interior. Mutual aid from Old Town, Veazie and Bangor.

3/27 Afternoon Rochester, NH - House and barn on Prospect Street. Pellet stove chimney fire spread from house to barn.

3/27 06:30 Pembroke, NH - 2 Alarm - 417 Pembroke Street house fire. Fully engulfed on arrival. Seven towns mutual aid.

3/26 21:55 Nashua, NH - 2 Alarm - 23 Apple Tree Green, 2.5 story home, attic fire. Smoke and water damage throughout the large structure. One minor firefighter injury.

3/23 23:55 Belmont, NH - Laconia Road, outside fire spread to structure. Smoke detectors alerted residents. some external damage, but they were able to return home.

3/21 03:30 Oxford, ME - 127 Fore Street, large garage. Adjacent house was protected. Mutual aid from five towns.

3/20 03:48 Manchester, NH - 2 Alarm - 233 - 235 Unio n Street, three story apartment building. Fire contained to second floor with water damage to first and smoke damage to third. Eight residents displaced until repairs can be made.

3/18 06:30 Lewiston, ME - 136 Old Greene Road, vacant home.

3/15 08:00 Portland, ME - 65 Grant Street, civilian victim succumbed to products of combustion after being ignited by a kitchen stove.

3/11 01:05 Auburn, ME - 1408 Riverside Drive, chimney fire extended to the attic and roof.

3/10 06:45 Chichester, NH - Goosebay Sawmill, Dover Road apartment building destroyed and lumber storage building exposure protected. Extensive mutual aid.

3/8 18:50 Falmouth, ME - 481 Gray Road, home destroyed. Fully involved upon arrival.

3/3 16:46 Lovell, ME - 119 Main Street, barn fully involved upon arrival. 1 1/2 story cape protected with smoke and water damage.
